As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of i2’s founding, we would like to invite you to the 10th Metals Day, which will take place on October 7-8, 2008, in Prague. This will be the first GLOBAL Metals Day.
Reflecting back, Timken Steel was our first metals customer and since then we have added a large number of steel customers. With the subject of ‘getting results faster’, the Global Metals Day is an excellent opportunity to learn about supply chain best practices and how you can change your businesses for the better.
As a tradition, on October 7 we have a programme that will allow for networking and informal discussion. Unfortunately due to limited capacity at Kampa Park restaurant, the option will be booked out on first come first serve basis. If required, there will be an alternative available for the remaining delegates.
On October 8 we will facilitate a full day conference. At the event you will have an opportunity to hear presentations from leading metals companies, representing all three regions – Europe, Asia and the US. In addition you will be able to attend breakout sessions that address various supply chain challenges.

14:30 Guided Tour in Prague including a tour of Prague Castle which is one of the largest castles in the world, Gold Street and Lesser Town.

16:30 Bus transfer to old town square where we will enjoy Prague’s Astronomical Clock followed by a walk on the Charles Bridge over the Vltava River

This session will provide you with an overview of the commonly used supply chain solutions in the metals industry. The session will cover solutions from Sales and Operations Planning to Order Promising and Factory Planning, to Material Allocation and Mill Scheduling.
Breakout B – LOGIS Caster Scheduler presentation
This specific solution presentation will go through the features of Logis Caster Scheduler and provide a solution demonstration. The solution can manage continuous casting and ingot teeming and material flow from iron supply to continuous casting.

Breakout A - Trinecké Železárny case study
Trinecké Železárny, an integrated steel company and the top producer of long steel products in Czech Republic, will talk about their advanced production planning implementation and their learnings. The implementation covers an integrated system including planning of metal production in the whole internal chain: steel plant – rolling mills – finishing lines – dispatch, allocation of disponsible inventory in the production flow and the detail production scheduling of the steel plant.
Breakout B - i2 Forging Solution
Specialty Steels—including Titanium, Vandium and Stainless—often require
